Dr. Richard Kradin is a senior physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, a psychoanalyst, and professor emeritus at Harvard Medical School. He holds post-graduate degrees in comparative religion from Harvard University and Hebrew College, lectures nationally and internationally on various topics, and teaches at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
Dr. Kradin is the recipient of the Gradiva Award for best paper in psychoanalysis, Upjohn award for excellence in research, and the Small Prize (Summa Cum Laude, Harvard).
He has authored texts that examine psychology and society for academic presses including the Herald Dream (Karnac, 2006), Placebo Response and the Power of Unconscious Healing (2008, Routledge), Disorders of the Mind-Body Interface (2012, Routledge), Parting of the Ways: The Judaic Roots of the Psychologies of Freud and Jung (2016, Academic Studies Press), Out of Control: Apocalyptic Psychology in the Age of Trump (2018, Amazon), Breakdown: How Progressive Ideology is Eroding Morality and Redefining Mental Health in America (2020, Defiance Press), Never Trump (2021, Defiance Press), a soon-to-be-released text Unhealthy: The Corruption of America’s Health System, and several reference medical textbooks on pulmonary and infectious diseases.
